Life continued to throw Catherine lemons - falling down the stairs which caused a brain injury, losing her short term memory for a period of time, and losing everything and filing for bankruptcy. However, through it all Catherine was able to build an incredible career as a corporate practitioner of over 20 years becoming a trailblazer in the corporate treasury space.

The turning point of Catherine’s life was having heart surgery before the age of 34. As stated in her chapter, The Calling Of The Heart, in the book “Trailblazers” ‘I asked if I had done enough on this earth. And if I didn’t, to give me an opportunity to make an impact.’ Ever since Catherine had a successful heart surgery she has been striving to make an impact. It has been the very essence of her leaving her corporate career to pursue a passion to help small business owners scale and grow their businesses. It’s the reason she champions for women in the finance industry to find their voice. Most of all, it’s the beacon behind her providing a financial literacy curriculum to students so they too can live a life of abundance and walk boldly into their Kingdom.

Finding purpose in your God given gifts is one of the most important aspects of life. Catherine has been able to take her lemons and create a life meant for a true Queen. One that will create impact in her community and leave a lasting legacy.

Impact:

When life deals you lemons you make lemon drop shots! Raised by grandparents due to her parents' substance abuse issues was the start of Catherine’s purpose journey. As intelligent as she was, she still had to overcome the statistics that said she would be on drugs, in jail, or dead by the age of 21. Her appetite to beat the odds came at a young age. In an effort to make it out of her environment, she brought her college applications to the jail where her mother was serving time. Catherine begged the guard to allow her to bring the papers in so she could forge a different path. This paid off allowing her to earn a BS in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut and ultimately an MBA from the University of Massachusetts.
